“As Pride Month begins this year, we recognize both the great strides we’ve made toward equality as well as the reversals we’ve endured under this administration. Constant assaults on trans rights at the state and federal levels and the rise of aggressive White Christian nationalism that seeks to dismantle marriage equality and civil rights protections call for a Pride Month that combines celebration with a renewed commitment to the cause of equality.
The LGBTQ+ community is facing tremendous threats, but People For the American Way remains resolute in its commitment to ensuring that love wins in the end. We will continue working for a world in which equality is the norm and the promoters of hatred and bigotry are denied the power to impose their exclusionary vision on the rest of us.”
