Washington, DC — In response to the Supreme Court's majority decision ruling that allows states to ban trans women and girl athletes from competing in sports, People For the American Way president Svante Myrick issued the following statement:
"Today's opinion is the latest assault against the rights, dignity, and humanity of trans people, a community that deserves the equal protection of the law guaranteed by our Constitution to all Americans. That promise includes transgender Americans. We will not rest until we have a Supreme Court that recognizes that."
