Today we mourn the passing of Reginald “Reg” Weaver, a beloved board member and stalwart friend to People For the American Way. Reg was an educator at heart and served his fellow educators as a former president of the National Education Association. His relentless good humor, lifelong advocacy for quality public education, and his passion for racial and economic justice created a profound legacy that will carry on for generations to come. Our hearts are with his family and loved ones as we remember his important work and his devotion to building a more just and compassionate world.
