Republicans again chose Trump over an independent Justice Department

Senator Bill Cassidy just announced that he will vote to confirm Todd Blanche as attorney general. His decision gives Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer the final Republican support he needed, all but assuring that Blanche will be confirmed to lead the Justice Department.

Cassidy acknowledged that Blanche is “not perfect.” That is an astonishing understatement. Blanche has helped bend the Justice Department to Trump’s personal and political interests, yet when it mattered most, Cassidy chose to give Trump exactly what he wanted.

Blanche’s nomination came down to a single Republican vote. Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski broke with Trump, but every other Senate Republican fell in line. Once again, the Republican majority showed that it cannot be trusted to serve as a check on Trump’s abuses of power.

If we want to end this rubber stamp, we have to change who controls Congress.

Election Day is less than three months away, and People For is working to reach, educate, and mobilize the voters who can flip the House and Senate. Your donation will help us expose the politicians enabling the MAGA agenda and build the voter power needed to defeat them.

With Democrats in control of the Senate, we can reject nominees who put loyalty to Trump above the Constitution and the rule of law. With Democratic majorities in Congress, we can stop destructive MAGA legislation, investigate abuses of power, and use congressional oversight to hold the Trump regime accountable.

Blanche is likely to be confirmed because Republicans control the Senate. In November, we can change who holds that power.

Please rush a donation of any amount to help mobilize voters and end the Senate Republican rubber stamp.
