Republicans have made their priorities painfully clear

As millions of Americans struggle with rising grocery bills, higher gas prices, soaring health care costs, and the daily strain of trying to make ends meet, congressional Republicans are not doing anything to make life more affordable.

Instead, they’re trying to ram through a hyperpartisan reconciliation bill that would pour tens of billions of dollars into ICE and Customs and Border Protection through the end of Trump’s term while also providing $1 billion for Trump’s White House ballroom. And this was the project Trump told us would not cost taxpayers a dime.

Americans who are struggling to make ends meet should not be helping to underwrite a Trump vanity project.

Republicans know that affordability is a critical issue for the American people. But instead of passing legislation that would lower costs, protect health care, or help working families breathe a little easier, they are using reconciliation to bypass Democratic opposition and advance a bill that would expand Trump’s dangerous immigration enforcement machine, shield ICE and CBP from accountability, and help bankroll Trump’s ballroom.

That is the choice Republicans are making.

❌ Not lowering costs.

❌ Not taking action to stop rising health care costs.

❌ Not relief for people drowning in bills.

Instead, they are pushing a $72 billion package for Trump’s immigration agenda, including more than $38 billion for ICE, $26 billion for CBP, and $1 billion for the East Wing project and ballroom.

This is the same Republican Party whose policies have helped drive the affordability crisis they now claim to care about. They passed giveaways for the wealthy and well-connected. They let critical health care supports expire. They backed policies that left families paying more and getting less.

The public is not asking for Trump’s ballroom.

The public is not asking Congress to hand ICE and CBP a blank check through the remainder of Trump’s term.

The public is not asking Republicans to use a partisan maneuver to force through another dangerous MAGA spending bill with a simple majority vote.

But that is exactly what Republicans are trying to do.

And they need to hear from us now.

Sign the petition: demand Congress reject this dangerous reconciliation bill

At a time when families need real relief, Republicans are offering cruelty, waste, and political theater. They are asking working people to pay the price while Trump gets his ballroom and ICE gets billions. Every member of Congress who supports this bill should have to answer to the people they were elected to serve.
