The Christian nationalist megachurch Mercy Culture recently held a Reformation Weekend event in Washington, D.C., that culminated in a Citizens For Life March on the National Mall. Mercy Culture, based in Fort Worth, Texas, is a dominionist congregation and political machine that recently established a presence in Washington, D.C. to wage spiritual warfare against what MAGA cultist pastor Landon Schott calls “demonic” attacks on the country.
During a Sunday church service, Mercy Culture ran a video promoting the anti-choice march, which explained that it is designed to convince the federal government to "unseat the demonic principality" of Pride Month by declaring June to be Life Month.
"Over the last three years, we've been hosting Citizens for Life marches across the nation to take ground against the evils of abortion, unseat the demonic principality of Pride, and lift up the name and power of Jesus," declared Mercy Culture pastor Heather Schott, Landon's wife. "With every step we take from state to state, we're believing God will give us that territory. We're declaring that every state will become pro-life and that abortion will be made illegal across the nation."
"On June 24th, 2022, the overturning of Roe v Wade was accomplished," Schott added. "Decades of prayers were answered, but the war is not over yet. The majority of states still allow abortion and babies are continuing to be murdered every year."
"Pride Month was first federally recognized in 1999 by President Bill Clinton and has been nationally celebrated since then," she continued. "Pride is what the Bible says God opposes. This word in the Greek means battles against or wars against. This is not the hour we want God warring against us, but with us. We need the blessing of God on America."
"We need your action," Schott proclaimed. "We're believing for June to no longer be Pride Month, but to be federally recognized as Life Month. ... This is not just an ordinary march. This is a joyful celebration and prophetic declaration, believing that as thousands march throughout the nation, abortion will be made illegal in all 50 states. It's time to fight for life. It's time to decree: June is no longer Pride Month; June is Life Month."
Like other religious-right activists, Landon Schott has attacked the faith of James Talarico, the Christian state legislator who is the Democratic nominee in this year’s election to represent Texas in the U.S. Senate. Schott has called Talarico “evil” and “an enemy of the body of Christ.”
