Dominionist New Apostolic Reformation leader Chuck Pierce was a keynote speaker at the National Consecration of our Courts event hosted by Phillip Jauregui’s Judicial Action Group Foundation at the National Museum of the Bible on Oct 5. Pierce told the activists “we are at war” and said the event would help decide who will rule the U.S. during the next 10 years.
As Right Wing Watch reported, another keynote speaker at the event was U.S. Circuit Judge James Ho, who Jauregui has endorsed as meeting the “biblical worldview” test he wants imposed on future Supreme Court nominees.
During President Donald Trump’s first term, Pierce and his NAR colleagues led spiritual warfare gatherings to pray that God would send angel armies against Trump’s “deep state” enemies and remove pro-choice Supreme Court justices so that Trump could replace them.
This month, Pierce told the assembled activists that this coming year would be “The Year of the Sword” in which they must wage spiritual warfare to determine “what sword will rule in our major cities.”
Now what God has done is put this open window for change and victory over us during this particular decade. And I believe a gathering like this brings us into change. And it brings us into victory …
He decided to put this window over Washington, D.C. and gather us here as a remnant. Now, that’s why I believe the theme of this is glory. But I also know from that window a sword is coming down this year.
“Because the sword is over America,” he said. “Will Islam rule? Or will the sword cause God’s people to wear the crown that is necessary?”
Pierce described being taken into God’s presence during an event at The Citadel military school in South Carolina in 2022 during which God showed him a map of the U.S.
There were four ruling angels around America. And then all of a sudden, all these angels, and I didn’t even have to count – 51 angels came into place. And they all had their swords in their sheath. Now that means they weren’t ready for war. And the Lord spoke to me and he said, ‘Tell America I have surrounded her.’
Pierce said that God told him he would begin sending angels to their respective states, starting with Alabama around Passover in 2024. Washington, D.C.’s angel has yet to be deployed, he said, but that by this coming April at Passover, “the future of the nation will be clearly before us.” Pierce’s speech included discussions of the supposed biblical and political reference of the number 7.
God is doing something in this nation. He is rallying a remnant like never before. And here’s the key. He said that he would not descend on Washington, D.C. with the angelic structure to bring the change fully for America ‘til 2027….
Now what God is saying to us right now is he is resetting the boundaries of this nation. And not only is he resetting the boundaries of this nation, he is bringing a revival of redemptive prophecy back to this nation.
And I believe we are going to see people like you, a prophetic gift stir up within you in a new way, where you’re going to decree a thing and it’s going to start happening. I believe that’s why I’m here is to loose that over you this morning.
…
Now I believe we are going to start bringing Heaven into the atmosphere in ways we have not seen heaven invade the atmosphere.
And that brings us to this year. This year is different. You go up. You receive a sword first. The sword will always come before the crown.
…
It’s a fiery incredible time that we’re moving into. But it’s filled with glory.
…
That’s why beginning this gathering to pray for the Supreme Court is so important for this year. And the worship and you being here. But seven is also biblically linked with a seven, a sword. It’s a call to arms. So it’s got a war factor in it that we have never seen. See, the whole decade, this whole era we’re living in is a conflict era. It’s an era of war. Each year intensifies. This year becomes the war with who will rule with the sword.
Now, I want you to understand we are in a war in our major cities in this nation on who will rule. What sword will rule in our major cities? Now, it’s important that we see that and know that the year ahead we have to ask him to come down, whichever way he can, into the major cities that influence this particular nation. New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Antonio, Houston, Detroit, I could go on and on. Charlotte.
It becomes really important that we see the war over cities this year. Without that, we will not see the rule of what really the year is about, which it also means to be adorned with a crown. We are moving into a place to wear our favor, to wear our triumph.
The word also means to cut a covenant and voice an oath. Therefore, the laws that come and are determined this year will determine the future of this land.
That brings me to this particular group of God’s saints that are gathered here. You are determining the future of this nation this year as you gather and pray.
…
Now I want to end by saying this. The greatest war we’re in right now is with our desire and our will. Because God has a future best for us still. But with that future best, we’re going to have to fully submit in a whole new way. Because the sword is over America. Will Islam rule? Or will the sword cause God’s people to wear the crown that is necessary?
Jauregui sent supporters an email promoting Pierce’s remarks, and it’s easy to see why. Pierce claimed that God had told him to give Jauregui a new “mantle”—basically a shawl—signifying a new level of spiritual authority.
Uh, I've never given this mantle out. It's new, and I think it represents you…. It's filled with crowns. And I believe because of people like you, because of the one who is leading us in this particular group and this particular cause for justice, this judicial cause, I believe, as we mantle him with new authority, he will walk in the authority necessary to change the course of how the courts work this year and how and what is decided. And this group is so instrumental in causing America to determine her future.
[Pierce drapes new mantle over Jauregui’s shoulders]
Father, we decree that the judicial body that is gathered here will truly become that this year, and that Phillip will lead us in a way we have never been led before. We crown him with a new authority, a new mantle, and a new identity to go forth in Jesus' name. Let's thank God for what he's doing.
Jauregui, who has recruited other religious-right leaders to support the Christian nationalist religion test he is trying to impose on the Supreme Court and other federal courts, has worked on judicial nominations for years. During Trump’s first term, when the White House was considering who to nominate to its second vacancy, Jauregui was so adamant that Amy Coney Barrett was God’s anointed that when Trump chose Brett Kavanaugh instead Jauregui denounced him as a “usurper.”
Like other religious-right leaders, Jauregui claims that 20th Century Supreme Court rulings upholding church-state separation broke America’s covenant with God. But he told activists at the Family Research Council’s recent Pray Vote Stand activist conference that the current Supreme Court could “heal” that breach by ruling in favor of a Texas law forcing every public school classroom in the state to post an officially edited version of the Ten Commandments.
