The MAGA movement is in disarray as President Donald Trump continues to defend his administration's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case while many of his right-wing supporters are growing increasingly outraged about what they see as cover up.
As Right Wing Watch reported last week:
When Axios reported earlier this week that a memo produced by President Donald Trump's Justice Department and FBI concluded that there is "no evidence that convicted sex offender and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein blackmailed powerful figures, kept a 'client list' or was murdered," the MAGA movement went into full meltdown.
For years, MAGA activists have been convinced that the Epstein files contained the key to finally taking down the "deep state" and that Trump was the only politician in America with the courage to release them; a belief that was eagerly fueled by members of Trump's own administration.
Since then, things have only gotten worse as Trump is now lashing out at his own supporters for having "bought into this ‘bullshit,’ hook, line, and sinker."
Religious-right broadcaster and full-blown Trump cultist Eric Metaxas waded into the maelstrom on his radio program the other day, lamenting that a demonic "spirit of division" is dividing the MAGA movement and urging everyone to trust Trump because his presidency has been "God's mercy to America."
"This is a great administration," Metaxas declared. "This is an administration so great we don't deserve it, and this is God's mercy to America to give us these heroes. From Kash Patel, Dan Bongino, Pete Hegseth, down the line; hero after hero after hero."
Metaxas was agog at "the idea that people would snipe in this way" about anything done by Trump and his administration.
"At some point, you have to really trust that Donald Trump does care about what we care about," Metaxas asserted. "I'll tell you right now folks, if you think Donald Trump would not do everything he possibly could to crush pedophile sex trafficking, I think you're crazy."
