On a recent episode of "The Truth & Liberty Show," a program produced by the Christian nationalist Truth & Liberty Coalition, radical right-wing pastor and broadcaster E.W. Jackson declared that conservative Christians must ensure that Republicans retain control of the federal government in order to prevent Democrats from taking the country in a "socialist, secularist, godless, and, frankly, sexually deviant direction."
"We simply cannot allow [Democrats] to further effect their agenda by having control of the House and the Senate, or at least to obstruct the corrective agenda of President Donald J. Trump," Jackson proclaimed. "Let me say this very clearly and unequivocally, because I don't want it to be misunderstood: I have the greatest admiration for President Trump. I think that he's done a tremendous job. Is he perfect? By no stretch of the imagination is he perfect. Not his past, not his present, he won't be perfect in the future, but I think he's done a tremendous service for this country, and I'm grateful to him for it."
"But he's leaving," Jackson continued. "What happens to America then? What does the next president do? Imagine if the agenda I've just suggested to you is not only subverted, but you had a Congress controlled by leftists and a leftist president who could completely alter everything I've just laid out and take this country in a socialist, secularist, godless, and, frankly, sexually deviant direction, which is exactly what they want to do and that is not too strong language to describe it. That is exactly what it is."
"Imagine what this country looks like if, instead of the continued flourishing of this awakening, we get a surrender to the forces of evil. and where that would ultimately take the country," Jackson warned. "We don't have to let that happen. God doesn't want it to happen."
