Seven Mountains Dominionism is a radical far-right theology that has, in recent years, been increasingly embraced by the Christian nationalist activists who support and surround President Donald Trump.
The Seven Mountains Mandate, as it is sometimes called, is closely associated with the New Apostolic Reformation and advocates having right-wing Christians control all aspects of society. Followers of Seven Mountains theology believe that they are to “do whatever is necessary” to take control of the seven main “mountains” that shape our culture—education, government, media, business, arts and entertainment, family, and religion—in order to implement the will of God throughout the nation and the world.
During a recent episode of the Christian nationalist "FlashPoint" program, MAGA pastor Hank Kunneman declared that Trump is a "Moses-type figure" who has been raised up by God to lead right-wing Christians in taking control of the Seven Mountains.
"God is asking us, 'What does a nation look like filled with glory?'" Kunneman said, directing his comment toward fellow panelist Lance Wallnau, who is one of the leading proponents of Seven Mountains Dominionism.
"What you have labored in Seven Mountains, President Trump represents a Moses-type figure who is leading us back to the Seven Mountains," Kunneman told Wallnau. "It's the Seven Mountains so that the glory can come down and be part of the mountain experience."
"We can't get caught up in wandering around again trying to figure out, 'Is Trump really for America? Is he Antichrist?'," Kunneman added. "We've got to stop wandering and let the glory come down on the Seven Mountains expression. And you're part of that leadership, apostolically, that's going to help reform this."
Kunneman is also a self-proclaimed "prophet" who repeatedly prophesied that Trump would be reelected in 2020 and that Mike Pence, then serving as Trump's vice president, would be elected president himself in 2024. Even though that never happened, Kunneman continues to insist that his prophecies were accurate and to lash out at those who question his "prophetic gifts."
