Jack Hibbs Doesn't Want 'To Be Anywhere Near' Anyone Who Votes For Democrats

Right-wing pastor Jack Hibbs praying in the House of Representatives

On Wednesday, Jack Hibbs—a far-right anti-LGBTQ pastor, conspiracy theorist, and Christian nationalist who was invited by House Speaker Mike Johnson to deliver a prayer to the House of Representatives last year—held an event at his Calvary Chapel Chino Hills church to promote the campaigns of Steve Hilton and Michael Gates, who are running as Republicans for governor and attorney general in California, respectively.

Hibbs, who has been a vocal supporter of Hilton's campaign from the beginning, used last night's event to declare that Democrats are "evil" and that he doesn't want anyone who votes for them anywhere near his family.

"You have to come to the conclusion [that] if you were a person who has neighbors who seek your destruction, what are they doing?" Hibbs said. "If someone in power is systematically united with others to destroy the Constitution of California and to take custody or jurisdiction over your children; they've got nothing else better to do instead of fixing freeways and stopping crime but to deal with the transgender sex mutilation business, what's going on? Who are these people?"

"If you support that kind of stuff, I want to know why," Hibbs continued. "I want to make sure I don't live near you. I am not laughing when I say that. I don't want you near my grandkids. I don't want you near my family. I don't want you near my wife. If you are a person who has voted these people into office, I personally want to know who you are because I don't want to be anywhere near you because that kind of conduct is dangerous."
