For years, right-wing broadcasters have been sponsored by companies that sell gold and silver coins as investments, often at inflated prices. These days, it seems that just about every MAGA commentator with a camera and a microphone has one of these companies as a sponsor, and Christian nationalist Trump cultist Lance Wallnau is no exception.
On a recent episode of his "The Lance Wallnau Show," Wallnau bragged about the amount of money his viewers have made after purchasing gold and silver from his sponsor as the precious metals reached record high prices, with Wallnau urging them to buy more, declaring that the price will only continue to increase.
And he knows this, Wallnau claimed, because he has "been right prophetically on virtually everything I've said for the last five years."
"How many times did I tell you, 'Get a hold of some silver?'" Wallnau bragged. "'The silver is mine and the gold is mine'; that's from Haggai. I was telling you that this was $22 an ounce; I heard this weekend it went up to 100."
"I've got people coming up to me in the airport, kissing me on the cheek [saying], 'I'm so glad I listened to you to buy that gold when it was $3,000. It's up to $5,000. I made all that money,'" Wallnau continued. "It's not going to stop. I'm telling you this. I'm not your financial expert. I've just been right, right prophetically on virtually everything I've said for the last five years. And that's a bold statement to make. I've got a lot of enemies. Anybody want to quote me where I missed it? The only time they ever say I missed it prophetically is when they accuse me of saying something I never said."
Wallnau, of course, has been wrong countless times in recent years, especially when it comes to his prophetic proclamations.
In 2018, Wallnau prophesied that "the entire deep state intrigue" against President Donald Trump would be exposed by June 6. When that didn't happen, Wallnau insisted that "damning evidence" had been uncovered but was being "suppressed." So desperate was Wallnau to validate his false prophecy that he continued to grasp at straws for months in an effort to convince his followers that he had been vindicated.
Even worse for Wallnau was the prophecy he delivered in April of 2023 when he claimed that God would start killing American political leaders within the next month in response to Trump's arrest for falsifying business records.
"The elites in Washington, well, they shrug their shoulders," Wallnau warned. "They're happy that this is happening, but I've been listening to prophecies lately about sudden deaths, and it looks to me like there could be some sudden deaths coming in May. In May, you're going to see some of the disciplinary hand of God come down upon those people that have been standing in the path of what he wants to do."
That never happened and Wallnau very obviously "missed it."
Fittingly, just as Wallnau was instructing his viewers to stock up on gold and silver because he knew that prices were going to continue to rise, the prices of both fell dramatically.
