Last night, far-right Christian nationalist pastor and Indiana Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith was among the guests who appeared on the "FlashPoint" program. During the broadcast, it was announced that voters in Virginia had passed a measure giving the state legislature the authority to redraw the state's congressional districts ahead of the upcoming midterm elections.
The vote in Virginia, which could potentially give Democrats several more seats in Congress, was a reaction to efforts to redraw districts in Republican-controlled states in order to maintain GOP control of Congress.
Beckwith was a vocal supporter of the GOP's gerrymandering effort, going so far as to blast Republicans in his home state as "Neville Chamberlain types" for refusing to support President Donald Trump's plan to redraw the state's congressional districts.
When news of the Virginia election results was announced during Tuesday night's broadcast, Beckwith did not hold back.
"I would just say, 'Wake up, Christians; they are coming for you,'" Beckwith declared. "You can't pet a demon. I I know people like to say, 'Hey, demons, stay over there, just don't hurt us and we won't hurt you.' It doesn't work that way. Evil will find you."
"Until strong men stand up and do something and fight fire with fire, then we will continue to lose ground, our children will be warped, the curse will be over the land," he continued. "The Democrats and the side of darkness—Democrats aren't necessarily all dark, but they are being led by the minions and the voices of darkness—they're going to win. They're playing to win. And so we have to wake up and guys step up. If we go on the battlefield, we will win. The question is, will we enter the battlefield? That's just what I don't know."
