Early this month, members of the National Association of Christian Lawmakers (NACL) — a hardline Christian nationalist group — met for a three-day national policy conference at Liberty University. Among its speakers were right-wing radio host Todd Starnes, Indiana Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith, and Sen. Tom Cotton — who was presented with an American Patriot Award for Christian Honor and Courage. Another speaker was 23-year-old Braeden Sorbo, whom NACL leader and former Arkansas state senator Jason Rapert introduced as an advocate for “traditional values.” Braeden Sorbo also happens to be the son of actors Kevin Sorbo (of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and God’s Not Dead fame) and Sam Sorbo, who, as she wrote on Instagram, “emceed the evenings.”
