The murder of Charlie Kirk on the Utah Valley University campus has ratcheted up political tension at home and abroad. Kirk, a far-right commentator and founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, while holding a question-and-answer session at an outdoor amphitheater. Kirk’s assassination, captured on video and rapidly disseminated online, has been weaponized by far-right activists, politicians, and extremist groups, many of whom are calling for retaliation and violent retribution. Some of those demanding action have millions of followers.
