Prayer as Propaganda: 'Peacemaker' Trump, 'Leftist' MAGA Pundits, and Islam 'Taking Over' U.S.

Intercessors for America pumps out pro-Trump propaganda presented as calls for prayer.

Tuesday morning’s email from the Trump boosters at Intercessors for America encouraged recipients to thank God “for using President Trump as a peacemaker in the Middle East.” That’s the same “peacemaker” who said Monday that if a deal isn’t reached this week, the U.S. will “keep bombing our little hearts out.”

The same email newsletter called it an “answered prayer” that two Democratic senators, John Fetterman of Pennsylvania and Martin Heinrich of New Mexico, joined Republicans to advance Sen. Markwayne Mullin’s nomination as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. (Mullin was confirmed with their support on Monday night.

As Right Wing Watch has noted, the pro-Trump “prayer warriors” at Intercessors for America use their platform and “White House Prayer Team” project to function as a propaganda arm for the White House, helping to maintain high levels of support for Trump from conservative evangelicals.

IFA reliably promotes current MAGA messaging, as it did over the weekend in urging people to “pray against the spirit of Islam that is taking over our nation.” IFA praised “legislative, social, and spiritual action aimed at strengthening the Judeo-Christian roots of America and overcoming this demonic, religious agenda that has been snaking its way in since the foundation of our country.”

Another weekend post was titled “Three Leftist Lies About Operation Fury,” but the article focused on  MAGA critics of the war: Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and Joe Kent—none of whom qualify as a “leftist.”

IFA is also mobilizing pressure on members of Congress to pass the voter suppression bill misleadingly called the SAVE America Act, which Trump is demanding because he says it will “guarantee” continued Republican control of Congress after this year’s election and prevent Democratic victories for 50 years.
