At the beginning of the month, far-right Christian nationalist GOP Rep. Mary Miller introduced a congressional resolution designating June as "Family Month" in an effort to, as she said, "reject the lie of ‘Pride’ [Month] and instead honor God’s timeless and perfect design."
Appearing on "Washington Watch" with Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council at the time, Miller claimed that her resolution was necessary because "the left hijacked June to present perversion, cause gender confusion, and basically to give license for individuals to be indecent to in public."
On Wednesday, Miller again made the case for declaring June to be "Family Month" on the "WallBuilders Live" radio program, asserting that she had been sent to Washington, D.C. by God with a mission to "overcome evil with good."
"I came out here with common sense values and with a foundation holding to biblical principles, constitutional principles, and then the Republican Party platform," Miller said. "I came out with the mission—which was the same as when I was in Illinois—and that is I believe God has left us on Earth as believers to overcome evil with good and Pride Month, in my opinion, [is] evil."
"The left hijacked it to promote gender confusion, to promote indecency, hyper-sexualizing our children and actually grooming our children," she added. "So, I decided I'm going to reclaim it for the family."
