MAGA “prophet” Robin Bullock claimed last week that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is the “beast” and “monster” that Bullock prophesied about in 2023. Bullock said God told him never to correctly pronounce Mamdani’s name because it means a follower of Muhammad. Instead, he says, God told him to call Mamdani a “mamba”—“a deadly serpent.”
Appearing on the ElijahStreams network with host Steve Shultz on Thursday, Bullock played video of himself in 2023 supposedly delivering a prophecy from God, accompanied by appropriately foreboding music, about a beast arising from the gutter in New York City. He spliced in a clip of Mamdani being sworn in at an former subway station beneath city hall.
Bullock said God told him that “the enemy is going to try to open an abyss in Manhattan” but that “my prophets will close it.” He delivered what he said was a message from God: “I have raised up prophets in New York City and surrounding areas to speak, to put their foot on the head of the monster and drown it down beneath the streets.”
Bullock complained about Mamdani using a Quran at his swearing in, saying, “There was no way he could swear allegiance to the US Constitution on the Quran, ‘cuz it don’t agree.” We’ve heard similar complaints from Christian nationalists before, including those who objected to Keith Ellison using a Quran when sworn in as the first Muslim elected to the U.S. Congress. (Ellison now serves as Minnesota’s attorney general).
Bullock also showed a clip of Mamdani being introduced by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and sworn in by Sen. Bernie Sanders. Bullock portrayed it as evidence of a sinister communist-Muslim alliance taking over New York City, which he analogized to a seventeenth century siege of Vienna by the Ottoman Empire.
For his part, Shultz seemed obsessed with Mamdani’s trademark smile, repeatedly referring to it as something sinister. “God needs to wipe that stupid grin off of his face,” Shultz said.
Bullock and Shultz went on to talk about President Donald Trump, who Bullock referred to as “God’s man,” saying that God had ordained Trump and put him in power. Trump’s administration has given greater access than ever before to the dominionist prophets-and-apostles wing of Christianity. But Bullock complained that real prophets like him aren’t being allowed to talk to Trump, whose “heart is pure” but who, Bullock says, is crying out to the church for help.
As Right Wing Watch has reported, Bullock was among the "prophets" who guaranteed that Trump would be reelected in 2020. He claims the 2020 election was stolen so effectively that it created a "delusion" that made people think the prophets got it wrong.
