On Saturday, Christian nationalist worship leader and right-wing political activist Sean Feucht posted a video on social media expressing his outrage that several hundred Muslims had gathered in Times Square the day before to pray.
"Thousands of Muslims have blocked off Times Square in New York City, shouting 'Allahu Akbar,' releasing demonic prayers and decrees over the city," Feucht fumed. "Are you kidding me? In America!"
"You have Muslims taking over the streets of Times Square [in] New York City 25 years after 9/11," he continued. "The streets are being completely hijacked with prayers to a foreign god in America's greatest city. How did we get here? How in the world is this happening?"
This is happening because Muslims have religious freedom in this country, much to the dismay of Christian nationalists like Feucht, who apparently believes that only Christian worship services should be held in Times Square, like the ones he has organized in recent years.
On top of that, Feucht has also held events in New York City where he used public fountains to perform baptisms.
The greatest irony, of course, is that Feucht partnered with the federal government last year to host a Christian worship service on the National Mall and is partnering with the government once again to host a series of such worship events across the nation throughout 2026.
Feucht's outrage perfectly demonstrates the central tenet of the Christian nationalist worldview, which is that only Christians should be allowed to exercise their faith in public and influence society, culture, or politics.
Calling the Muslim prayer "a forceful display of dominance," Feucht announced that he will be returning to Times Square this summer.
"We're gonna dethrone all that mess and all that stuff that has been released over the last few days," he said. "We're gonna raise up a sound to King Jesus and we're gonna declare his rulership over that city."
