Last week, Richard Rogers of the America First Policy Institute appeared on "The Jim Bakker Show," where he reported that the Trump administration would be appointing a "faith director" to serve under every Cabinet member who would be tasked with ensuring that anti-Christian policies are not enacted.

On Wednesday, Christian nationalist worship leader and right-wing political activist Sean Feucht posted a video in which he reported something similar, claiming that the Trump administration intends to assign a "government-sanctioned intercessor" to every Cabinet member who will be responsible for praying for them and shaping their decisions.
Returning from the inauguration, Feucht complained again about the remarks delivered by Episcopal Bishop Mariann Budde at the National Prayer Service held at the Washington National Cathedral before bragging that he had been invited to hold worship services inside the Pentagon by Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth and inside the U.S. Capitol by House Speaker Mike Johnson.
But that was only the beginning.
"I can't wait to tell you guys the God connections," Feucht marveled. "Mind boggling. I got invited to do worship at the Pentagon with my friend Pete Hegseth. I got invited by Speaker Mike Johnson to go into the Capitol and worship. I mean, it's crazy guys."
"It's wide open, right now," he continued. "Our government has people in it now—I've never seen this and never heard of this before—where worship is being invited in and the Trump team actually has a faith department where every Cabinet member has almost like an intercessor, like a government-sanctioned intercessor, that's responsible to pray and integrate faith and prayer and decision making into every facet of the government."
"It's absolutely unprecedented.," Feucht rejoiced.
It is unclear if the "faith director" positions mentioned by Rogers are the same as the "government-sanctioned intercessor" positions mentioned by Feucht, but either way, this is further evidence of the deep influence of dominionist and Christian nationalist activists within the MAGA movement as well as the impact that institutions like the America First Policy Institute are already having on the federal government under Trump.
