On Wednesday PFAW and allies protested outside the Supreme Court before the oral arguments of the blockbuster voting rights case Husted v. Philip A Randolph Institute. A broad coalition of cultural advocacy and civil rights leaders rallied to demand that the justices protect Americans’ fundamental right to vote.
“It is unacceptable to take people’s right to vote. That is not the American way. We stand out here today to fight for our democracy,” Brooks said.

Rev. Lennox Yearwood, President and CEO of the Hip Hop Caucus, also energized the crowd, promising that activists will continue to fight for the right to vote.
