Washington, DC – In response to reports that the FBI has agreed to track down Texas state lawmakers who left the state to resist state Republicans’ efforts to push through gerrymandered electoral maps, People For the American Way President Svante Myrick released the following statement:
“FBI leadership is engaged in a corrupt effort to subvert our democracy. Federal law enforcement should never be used for partisan political purposes, let alone purposes totally at odds with our continuation as a free country.”
