Joel Webbon Says 'Everyone In Florida Will Be Blessed' By Electing Christian Nationalist James Fishback As Governor

In addition to being virulently antisemitic, deeply misogynistic, and manifestly racist, Joel Webbon is also a theocratic fascist Christian nationalist pastor who wants nothing more than to see Americans stripped of their rights and freedoms

Webbon has openly declared that he wants to see the Apostles’ Creed added to the Constitution; abortion, pornography, no-fault divorce, in vitro fertilization, and birth control outlawed; non-Christians kept out of his neighborhood and out of public office; Catholics relegated to second-class citizenship; immigrants shot for trying to enter the country; adulterers put to death; and women banned from voting and publicly executed for making false claims of sexual assault.

Realizing that politicians are unlikely to get elected to office by openly advocating for this sort of platform, Webbon advises Christian nationalists who are running for office to "hide your power" by never espousing such positions, especially when enacting those positions "is the goal."

Webbon has obviously found his ideal candidate in radical right-wing Florida gubernatorial hopeful James Fishback who, during his multiple appearances on Webbon's program, has been hailed as a politician who, if elected, will strike a "godly sense of fear" into the "hearts of every traitor."

Last week, Fishback invited Webbon out on to the campaign trail with him, where Webbon opened a rally in Ft. Lauderdale by declaring that a Fishback victory will prove to be a blessing upon the entire state.

Webbon urged the crowd of mostly young men to convince their parents to vote for Fishback in the August 18 Republican primary, but to do so in a way that satisfies the Fifth Commandment to "honor your father and your mother."

"Remember, the Fifth Commandment is the first of all the commandments that comes along with a promise," Webbon declared. "And what is the promise? That you would be blessed in the land. You want to inherit this land of Florida? You want to seize the land for the good, not just of you, but for the good of all? There are people who will vote against James Fishback—this is the beauty of the Christian faith, this is the beauty of James Fishback being one of the only true Christian nationalist candidates—there will be people who will vote against him and when he wins, not if, when he wins, they, his opponents, will be more blessed and better off that their vote lost and that James won."

"You are doing this for the good of everyone," Webbon proclaimed. "Everyone in Florida will be blessed. Everyone in Florida will prosper under the supreme civil magistrate who ultimately is under Christ."

During his own remarks, Fishback provided a demonstration of just how radical his administration would be when he vowed that his first order of business upon taking office would be to unilaterally nullify any law that he feels violates the Constitution.

"Before the sun sets on our first day together, we are gonna look at any law—and I mean any law that's on the books—that in any way, shape, or form violates the Constitution and we're gonna nullify it," Fishback proclaimed. "Marbury v. Madison, the landmark Supreme Court case in the early 1800s, made clear that any law that is repugnant to the Constitution is null and void. And here we honor the Constitution."

Contrary to Fishback's claim, Marbury v. Madison did not give elected officials the power to simply nullify laws but rather established the principle of judicial review, meaning that it is the courts that have the power to declare laws to be unconstitutional.
