Washington, DC -- In response to the Senate’s confirmation of Whitney Hermandorfer to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, People For the American Way President Svante Myrick released the following statement:
“We strongly oppose the confirmation of Whitney Hermandorfer, just as we oppose the confirmation of any judges nominated by a president who has shown nothing but disdain for the courts -- defying them as he pleases and threatening judges who disagree with him. The Senate should not confirm any nominees from any president who so blatantly flaunts the law and ignores judges’ orders so brazenly.”
